Flaming cars crashed against the gas station! The ground shook with each step the monster made. Mckenzie could barely keep her footing. "Umm Puddin' something tells me we may have to kill this one." A car landed only feet from them knocking Mckenzie to the ground. "You bastard!" She barrels rolled to the side and whipped her pistol out. Her hand was shakey but she managed to hit the gas tank of the car he was holding after four bullets. "Eat that loooooser." Quickly she pushed off the ground to get up the car exploded either setting him more a flame or melting his face off. Either way it was a chance to escape. She skipped over grabbing his arm once again. As she pulled him to run with her she was laughing hysterically, "wasn't that fun PUDDIN!? He probably isn't dead though so we should dash!"

The girl looked up she only smiled wide exposing rather nice teeth for such a world lacking in hygiene. "I GUESS you can say that, PUDDIN' but then again who really is anymore? That guy wasn't." She reached for his hand only to grab air and he recalled it.

The thrashing tank now exposed and on fire. Mckenzie jumped to her feet and ran forward slightly before wildly swinging her bat around. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME! YOU SENT THE THING ON FIRE!? HE'S ON FIRE NOW ARE YOU HAPPY!? THIS IS MADDNESS!!!" She dropped onto her knees after her temper tantrum and pouted her lip. "If there is a god he has a very good sense of humor.."

As the gun fired and she rose to her feet again. She looked over her shoulder to the boy. He wanted to run. She wasn't about to disagree. Skipping back to his side she turned to him, "come with me puddin'" and she grabbed his arm.

As she did although the tank was only more enraged as he started tossing cars.

Just as Twitch was walking away he couldn't help but to stop with a loud groan. This girl was concerned with him dying? She seemed to be nothing but a blundering idiot! How could she be worried for him? He had to stay... So, begrudgingly, he turned back to face the girl: standing behind a destroyed car. Only to hear the loud crack of the pistol; seeing the infected's body drop from the roof. Needing a moment before he replied: now making his way to her side. "You really aren't all there are you?". He said as he extended his hand for her.

Though just as quickly as it was extended the hand was withdrawn: the massive, now flaming, tank of a zombie smashing through cars. Growing closer and closer by the minute. Speaking to himself with an annoyed groan. "guess someones not dead yet." His gun immediately launching up as he fired off three shots. Each one hitting the gas tank to three different cars:blowing them up. The explosions stunning the beast so Twitch could turn back to the girl. "lets go. Its now or never." he stood there; patiently awaiting her reaction.

Though as he waited the beast only grew more and more angered. The large infected thrashing around wildly in an attempt to calm the flames. Though in truth all the beast accomplished was to launch flaming cars out within the area of the store parking lot.

McKenzie gripped her bad tight with her right hand while her left moved upward inside the jacket. There was a click and she slipped the left hand out, now in it was a pistol. She brought it to the side of her head using it to brush her long bangs from her face.

"Should I stay and play? Or run away? One one hand this is going to waste so much of my energy and ammo.. On the other hand you'll probably get killed."

She rubbed the gun against her cheek. The explosion only attracted the monster more to their location. The growling increased, each step the ground vibrated as if it was an earthquake. McKenzie lost balance and fell back on her butt accidently firing her pistol and amazingly hitting a zombie hanging from the mart's roof.

"Oopse. I swear! He was dead before I shot him."

The boy couldn't help but to feel an instant irritation as he heard the word "shrimp" leave her mouth. Clearly meant in a condescending tone. Though, he kept his finger off the trigger as to let her slide. In this world it was acceptable to kill someone for just speaking in a bad tone: let alone a direct insult. Though this was not his world: the world he maintained. In his world the only viable response to this woman was "Whatever." That was enough of a rebuddle; at least for the time being.

Yet as soon as she had arrived the roar was heard. An insatiable, hungry, roar that would shake most in their boots. Though Twitch on the other hand... He remained silent to her warnings. Instead began counting down. "Four... Three... Two..." Though before he could even reach one a massive explosion was heard from outside. "hm... Faulty timing."

With the data now analyzed he began walking towards the open gate: joining the woman outside. Calmly looking to her before a distant smirk played across his lips. Yet he said nothing. Merely raising his gun in salutations and walking out into the open, but barren, world.

"Have you seen queen yet, Shrimp? If you want good eats you need to kill yourself one of them. The babies are very tender and the queen herself has the most nutrients. Just don't eat the sack it is full of tainted fluid." She hopped over the counter and walked up to the gate pressing against it.

"As for eats I have some real food I just needed some batteries and metal." She flashed him a smile and turned to walk back inside the store but stopped hearing a loud roar come from outside. Quickly she grabbed her bat and bag full of bits and peices. Dropping down and rolling out she looked at the boy, "Mckenzie suggests you run and fast."

The girl now known as Mckenzie darted off full off giggles into the night, bashing her bat into zombie skulls as the roar began to get louder. Horders of zombies began to run past them as if they weren't concerned with food any longer but had to run away from something. McKenzie stood in awe and turned back around. "Too late."

He felt the bat push against him forcing him to fall back onto his butt: his gun never leaving her but becoming more paniced in aim. His eyes focused on her as she went off to scavage for batteries and such. He had no need for lightbulbs but batteries.. She had a point. Though seeing as how she did not seem to harm him yet he slowly lowered his gun. "Yeah.. I hear ya. Well theres no food anyway... Not anything that isnt rotten that is.." with that he turned his attention to the zombie. Placing his gun in his back pocket and pulling out a box cutter in return.

He sat there quietly as he cut the monsters clothes. This one was a male. He mustve been in good shape before he turned.. He seemed to be fairly fresh. So, with ease, the boy began cutting away at the meat that lay dead before him. Cutting off good chunks, but, careful not to hit any rot. See their saliva is what rots the skin.. And he couldnt injest saliva in fear of infection. Although hed be cooking it either way he prefered to be safe rather than sorry.

He placed as much meat as he could fit into a sachel that lay against his waist. The smell was horrific, but, he just had to bare with it. Closing his knife as he slipped it into his pocket. Pulling the gun back out as he made his way to a canister of lighter fluid: quickly grabbing it. Holding his gun tivhtly against his hip as he finally broke the silence. "Theres still some on this one if eating entices you." stated clearly before he walked towards the gate: slowly slipping under it to exit the store.

As the boy made his presence know the girl only began to stand up straight as lower the bat in mid swing. The girl was much taller then the boy but prehaps that was because she wore boots with heels. Yes heals in a zombie apocalypse, why can't the end be fabulous. She had fishnets which were all torn up under a pair of tight jean shorts. The leg holes were frayed and she had knee pads on her knees as well. She had a jacket on and her long blonde hair was tied up in messy pigtails.

As he moved around her she peered around the store, it was a mess but there did look like there were things to be scavanged. "Excuse me Puddin' but you don't quite know what I am looking for."

As he left himself open she pushed the tip of the bat against his chest and attempted to push him back and she walked away. She went into the mess and knelt down digging through the mess. She began to hum a rather cheerful tone. She found a box of bandaids and medical tape so quickly she stuffed them in her bag. Standing back up she hopped the counter and pulled the clock from the wall and removing the batteries. She continued to rip batteries from things. Something people forgot about doing when they are too busy freaking out.

"Take notes shrimp. In a rush people never think to salvage batteries from the things in the store. Same goes for lightbulbs, scrap metal for weapons and so on." She leaned against the counter. Her coat was zipped up but from what it looked like she had elbow pads on under it. Around her kneck was a chocker and a sliver chain. Her face was dirty and her eyes had smeared black eyeliner around them. Her lip had a scab and she had a heart and star on her left cheek right under her eye. Her eyes were green and tired.

Twitch stood crouched there as he saw the girl run in: watching the events as they unfolded. Yet as he watched the girl he did not feel any form of attraction or admiration. Instead... His stomach began to growl uncontrollably. For the longest time he had survived off zombie meat... Disgusting, rotten, flesh. Though her.. She was fresh meat.

As she finally finished her rampage upon the monster the loud **** of a pistol was heard. Sure to catch her attention as he began walking to the girl. Speaking in a hesitant, cold, tone as his hands twitched; firmly grasping the gun. "You picked the wrong store..."

It was clear he did not want to hurt the girl by his body language. Though even more was the look in his eye shining through the **** socket in his gas mask. He was a short boy of about 5' 4" with blonde hair. His green eyes gleaming with desperation: his hands continuing to twitch and shake. "Theres nothing here.."

His green eyes never left hers as he scooted his way to the door: approaching the monster that lay at her feet. His body almost seeming to relax for a moment as he turned down to see the infected: leaving himself vulnerable for just a moment...

The streets were lined with filth and debris, the street lights thst managed to stay intact flickered and made a buzzing noise. The scene was rather...dead.

Standing in the flickering light she stood in wait timing it all just right. She clenched the handle of her metal bad as it hung by herside. She was preparing to make a break for it, attempt to the quickymart so she could gather supplies. As the light flicked off as it did every five minutes for only two minutes she dashed off into the dark heading towards the glowing store. Along the way she smashed the windshields of the cars creating an obnoxious amount of shattering noise. This was to lead whatever might be waiting to the noise and yet confusing them by the amount.

Maybe it wasn't the best of ideas but shattering windshields and not getting in trouble for it was thrilling! Life as she knew was over so it was time to enjoy every last second of it before getting mauled and dismembered by drooling, oozing, and rather smelly monsters.

She took a nose dive and rolled under the chained gate covering the door of the mart. Quickly she pulled the gate down and let out a sigh of relief. Which was short lived; behind her a goan and sloshing noise came and all she could do was roll her eyes.

It reached out for her mouth wide open and she clenched her bat spinning around as fast as possible swinging for a chance at his head, "not today puddin'" she yelled as the bat **** into it's skull snapping it's neck. Huffing and puffing she repeated to herself, "not..today..puddin'" and swung her bat some more as it's blood spattered in clumps on the floor and near by items.

The world was once full of common, fibrant, souls. Full of life and essence. Though now the streets of Manhattan are full of death and despair. Leaving on silence and monsters to crowd the streets. Though i am getting ahead of myself. If we are to start this story we should start it from the beginning of the outbreak. In a place called New York.

As humans we are bent on an ability to destroy ourselves. A quite easily accomplished ability at that. In this case we got everything we had coming to us. The United States attempted to make a biological weapon of epic proportions. The Z virus. A zombie that would spread through biting and create unending aggression in their victims.

The virus was started once scientists in manhattan injected into the original test subjects. This resulted in several species of zombies. They quickly escaped from their handlers and slipped into society. Attacking any civilians they could get their hands on. Killing most, but, leaving a few to face the wrath of the virus: turning them.

Now we are left only with a world barren of life and full of monsters...

Zombie Species:
1 Tank: these were the original of the test subjects. They are incredibly strong and large, but, also incredibly stupid. These are men only.
2 Witch; another original to the virus. They are incredibly crafter and their nails grow and harden into weapons. These claws secrete saliva so can pass on the virus. Women only.
3 Queen; another female only carrier. They were once pregnant women. Now they can "release" a small zombified child. The Queen is very slow, but, the offspring is incredibly fast. The queen resembles the Witch but her claws do not secrete saliva.
4 The Horde: these are your average every day zombie. They typically hunt in packs and work together.
5 The Hounds: these are the result of animals bit by a zombie. Usually the virus kills animals but on occasion they turn. There are verying species of "hounds."

Rules:
1 no super powers. You are human.
2 military grade weapons are rare to come by.
3 there is a cure but it comes in 3 stages: first dose speeds heartrate. Second dose slows change. Third dose stops change. Not all doses are always together. This cure only works during/before change. After you turn theres no going back.

Fun facts:
1 zombies cant reproduce.
2 saliva spreads the virus. So zombie meat can be safely eatten. Just not the saliva.
3 some may have immunity to the virus
