The exams were a cakewalk. After spending the past two years studying like a madman, Kai flew through them without problem. He would get into the Academy if it killed him! But if it did kill him, it would be the field exam that did so. It was his first time out in the wild without anyone else. Gifted with a Bulbasaur though, he confidently made his way East. He didn't know what he was looking for, only that he would know it when he saw it.

There were a few others who were taking this path, but most of them stayed near the camp. Kai felt like they were probably missing out. There was one girl who caught his attention as he walked. But her focus was so intense, he couldn't bring himself to speak to her. He passed over many promising looking Pokemon before making it to the mountain. By this point, all of the kids who were traveling in the same direction had split up, and none of the others were in sight.

He wandered for some time, looking for his fated partner. His eyes widened when he spotted a Ghastly all by itself. But when he approached, it faded into thin air! A disgruntled Kai was almost ready to head back to camp, when he heard an unfamiliar sound.  around a corner, he saw a Magnemite, hovering around a rock as if it were magnetically drawn to it! Without hesitation, he released Bulbasaur. "Leech Seed!" He called, and Bulbasaur did just that. Once Magnemite was ensnared, Kai threw the Pokeball, Capturing the Magnemite.
Yes! he practically yelled, high fiving his palm against Bulbasaur's vine whip.

When he finally made it back, he noticed that the girl he had seen before was already back and settled in! He must have taken more time than he realized. Once he received his Pokedex, he made his way over to a rock and took a seat, doing research of his own as he noticed a few of the others beginning to congregate

Xeta returned to the proctor with a spring in her step. Her excitement only grew when she received her pokedex! Now she was able to find out the details aobut her Gerafrig. The proctor told her that she had four and a half hours left to explore the island before the journey back to the school. As nice as that sounded, she didn't want to wander too far and not make it back in time.

She looked around for a place to sit and bond with her pokemon, when she saw anther trainer sitting with his Eevee. It was so tame already! She had to find out how he accomplished that task. With a quick yet calm step, she made her way over toward the boy sitting on the rock.

"Hi! I'm Xeta. What's your name?"

Zaria sat there, staring at the Pokeball containing her new Ponyta for a while. She was picturing all the possibilities for her and Ponyta. It was actually the perfect first catch for her! After several moments had passed, however, Squirtle approached her and patted her knee, snapping her out of her daze. She looked at the tiny turtle and smiled happily. "Thank you Squirtle! I wouldn't have been able to do this without you!" Squirtle puffed out it's chest in pride before Zaria recalled it and headed back.

When Zaria arrived before the Proctor, a boy with silver hair was just finishing up. he had captured an adorable little Eevee! She watched him walk away before reporting to the Proctor and receiving her Pokedex. She too, took a seat nearby and examined the device. using it to familiarize herself with the Ponyta. It wasn't nearly as affectionate as the boy's Eevee though. How had he tamed it so quickly? She wanted to ask him, but didn't want to reveal how unsure of herself she was. For now she would wait. At least until she could speak with the boy in private...

My journey was going to be a long a hard one , but at the end when I look back on it , it would all be worth . I listen the best I could . I was way to excited to even keep still . I wanted to start asap . The Announcement was shorted then I expected and really straight to the point . Which was a good thing because I don't think I could maintain my character any longer .

 I waited to receive my temporary Pokémon till I was able to catch my own . I thought they would have a pattern on how they where giving the Pokémon out to us but it was completely random . I really didn't know what was I getting till I recieve the poke ball and threw it to the ground. "Bablbasur"!! A bablbasur , the grass type Pokémon that likes to sun baith . Cool ! We going to do great things the short time we have with each other . Balbasur !! I take that as a yes . Let's get going then but wait here's a snack . I made it myself for grass types only . Do you like it ? Balbasur took a bite and smiled confirming he like it . Good! I noted it and save it to my notebook where I keep my ingredients for Pokémon food .

We all started to go our seperate ways . Some went to the shore , some went into the forest and others began to take the hike . I already knew where I wanted to go . To the mountains I go. !

After walking away from the group, Zaria looked back. It could be easier to pass the exam if people traveled together. The proctor didn't say it was against the rules, but it didn't seem that anyone was. They went off on their own without a word to each other. It was possible they wanted to avoid the competition and fighting over pokemon. With a sigh, she took off on her own. For some time she didn't see a single Pokemon. Eventually, she arrived at the waterfall and the lake, where she saw a Shellder! She almost squeed in excitement! "It's so cute!" She exclaimed.

But when she approached, the Shellder quickly retreated beneath the surface of the water. She huffed and took a seat by the water. "How do you even catch a Pokemon?" She asked herself. She understood the concept, of course. But what was to stop every Pokemon from running away instead of fighting? She had already wasted almost an hour. She decided it was time to get up and go. But just as she was preparing to go, she heard a clotting sound. She turned to see a Ponyta approaching the lake for a drink. Her eyes widened at the sight. It was beautiful! She wouldn't let this one get away...

"Squirtle! Let's go!" She called as she released the turtle from it's ball.  "Bubble!"

Squirtle fired a barrage of bubbles toward the Pony Pokemon that exploded on contact, startling the Ponyta. The flames on Ponyta's back flared up, and it turned to Squirtle, it opened it's mouth, and sent a series of Embers it's way. "Withdraw!" She called out. Squirtle quickly withdrew into it's shell, which prevented the bulk of it's damage. "Headbutt!" Squirtle lunged at the Ponyta, crashing into it with it's head, and knocking it off it's balance. Zaria threw the Pokeball then, catching Ponyta inside. It put up some resistance, but it eventually held still. "I did it!" She cried, picking up the ball containing her new Ponyta. "Thank you Squirtle! She cried. She hugged the turtle and returned it to it's ball. She pushed her hair out of her face and smiled in accomplishment. She passed her exam!

Merith had done a lot of research on the academy even before he had been able to join its ranks, he wanted to know everything about pokemon so that one day when he was a pokemon master he knew as much as he could about each one. The plane ride over wasn’t long enough to read up on every little thing that magneta island had to offer, but he did get the basic layout. When they landed each of the procters handed out pokemon each one a useful friend to help them catch one of their own. He had received Charmander, a fire type pokemon a useful one against the pokemon he truly wanted. When they were told they could go Merith was off to the forest area dashing straight towards the area he needed to be. Once inside he knew he had eight hours to complete the exam so it was simple catch the pokemon he wanted and train it a bit before heading back.

After about an hour of searching the area he finally stumbled upon what he was looking for and in person the pokemon was much bigger and scarier than he thought. Its large scythe like blades chinked together, its wings beating at the air and the loud screech it gave out as they approached caused Merith to recoil slightly but it was too late to run now. He threw the pokeball forth releasing Charmander from its home. “Charmander I choose you.” Charmander came forth from the ball and spit a small bit of fire forward. Scyther prepared itself and charged straight for Charmander, Merith pointed forward with a smile.

“Charmander use tackle.”

Charmander met the scyther midway through its charge knocking him back slightly from the recoil, merith smiled at the slight victory before shouting. “Charmander use Ember” A small bit of fire extended forth from charmanders mouth and caught the area around scyther on fire causing the pokemon to flair back a bit in fear. Scyther however started a counter attack flying towards Charmander through the fire and swiping at him four times, causing Charmander to fall back to right in front of Merith.  Scyther charged forward again preparing for the final blow. “Charmander use ember then tackle.” Charmander spit forth flames again and went to tackle at the same time causing the fire to engulf its head and slam into scyther sending it reeling to the ground. Merith pulled out his pokeball and tossed it at the scyther. One shake, two shakes and then no more movement. Slowly he made his way back to the field ready to begin his days at the academy.

Zaria tried to sleep on the plane, but her nerves simply wouldn't allow it! The entrance exams had been so tough all day it was a wonder they hadn't sent her home already! And this was supposed to be the toughest one! What if she didn't get accepted? What if she had to go back to Pallet Town and live a boring life like her parents? She just couldn't live with that! So she sat up, with her window closed waiting for their arrival. She didn't know anyone there, but some of her colleagues seemed to be well studied, far moreso than her. How could she not be nervous?

It only got worse once they were on the ground, and the Proctor explained the exam! They had to catch a Pokemon! And it needed to be strong enough to be a good partner at the Academy! She practically broke into a cold sweat! But she followed instructions just the same. Her number was 24, so she lined up in the second line and went to retrieve her Pokemon, which she released to reveal a Squirtle!

The tiny turtle Pokemon was so cute it relieved her nerves a bit, she smiled to it and pet it's head. "Alright Squirtle! Let's go! She said, taking off in a random direction. She may have felt a bit better, but she still didn't have a plan...

A large island located halfway between the Kanto and Johto Region. Named for the Magenta colored sky at sunset, this land is known for being well populated with Pokemon from both regions, it is often used as the location of Field exams. On the easternmost side of the island is a beach that traverses from the northernmost to southernmost points. Traveling East will lead to a wide field, that is split down the middle by a large river that travels from a cliff and waterfall in the northeast to a large freshwater lake in the southwest.  West of the lake is a forest that's heavily populated with different pokemon. A hike through the woods alone would take over an hour. But on the far East side, is a small mountainrange filled with underground caves that house even more species! A hike from the far East to far West sides of the Island would take about 3 hours.
