Hera was surprised to see the blush scatter across his cheeks. It made her smile as they walked and conversed with only the stars above as their witness. Upon hearing his compliment, she laughed.

"I think you are the one being too kind, Sir," she chuckled.

She raised her eyebrows at what he had said abd stopped walking to meet his gaze directly.

"If you're a prince, then why waste your time here?" she asked. "Surely, you have beater accommodations back where you live than what the earth can give you."

Hera barely uttered the question when they were abruptly interrupted by four of the king's guards. The tallest one with a black beard chuckled at Hera.

"Your father is searching for you, as usual," he said, peeling his eyes from her to look at the man guiding her. "Your father will not be pleased to see you with a peasant again."

Her hand fell away from Kevin and all of the color drained from her face. Clearly, what the guard had said had struck a chord.

"He is not a peasant," she countered. "And who I visit with is none of my father's business, is it?"

The guard sighed under the scrutiny of her gaze.

"Just this once, Hera, but don't let your father know what I did for you," he said, glancing at Kevin again before passing on with the other guards.

She trembled in spite of the warm night. "I hate that word, 'peasant'."

Hera gazed towards the palace. "No one should be valued higher than another."

A soft red blush graced his cheeks as she mentioned he was handsome. He gave a small shake to his head flattered by the comment.

"Your to kind princess. If its not to out of line to say you have a very graceful beauty about you."

His eyes met hers and he nodded laughing with a smile.

"That may be true. Perhaps Im in need of lessons."

He gave her a coy wink and tilted his head a little. Though he had a home for the time being he didn't live anywhere.

"At this time the worlds been my shelter. Ive been traveling around the world to view other royal families. My home is on Mt. Houyzan. The land of eternal winter. My father, Hyouzan Yamato is the king there."

She watched and suppressed a smile as he spoke wisely. He was firm, more so than what she dared to be, but it was justified. In spite of her outward demeanor and fondness for swordplay, she had a gentle spirit.

Grateful that he followed suit and responded to her call by offering her his services. Hera gave him a small smile before nodding her head.

"I do hope so," she said, flexing her jaw. The woman laughed and shook her head. "So much for keeping a low profile."

At the mention of their previous conversation, she blinked at him. It surprised her that he remembered.

"I was saying that you are handsome," she stated with a slight tilt of her head.

"Although, I think you need some more practice dancing," she joked with a playful wink.

Looking ahead, she side at the view of the castle. People were going in and out of the castle in extravagant apparel, enjoying the festivities. It was sick how they paraded around like gods while those beneath them suffered. She couldn't say much since she was one of them, but at least she was planning on trying to change it.

"Where do you live?" she asked, glancing back at him.

He was swift on his feet at her call. Pausing only for a moment to grab the guard by the scruff of his collar and haul him to his feet. The glow in his eyes intensified, casting a mencing shadow over the rest of his face. His eyes met the guards and the man took a step back out of fear. Though Kevin made no move on the gaurd his words came out hard and stern.

"Those who place themselves above those they serve are lower than the worms crawling in the earth. And as you have experienced for yourself, even the wisest of men can be blinded by anger when they do not know how to control it. You duty is not only to your rulers but the people they oversee as well. I suggest you help this man to his home, then return promptly to carrie out your punishment. Be lucky your princess is of level head, if it were up to me youd be walking away with a limp."

After his words he moved swiftly to the princesses side and offered her his arm so he may walk and talk with her.

"My apologies, I find it hard to stay quiet where a bit of wisdom could be imparted. I only hope my words penetrated his thick skull." He cleared his throat to change the tone of the conversation and offered her a kind smile, "Back to what you were saying before we were interupted. I am...?"

At the mention of his eyes, she raised her gaze and studied the oddity of the glow emitting from them. Sure, they were different, but it didn't strike fear into her soul, instead it intrigued her.

"People are afraid of what they do not understand," she replied, keeping the dance going as she spoke. "If they understand it, they feel as though they have some sort of control over it. When they don't feel as if they can control it, it scares them away."

The tone of the dance was off for a moment as one of the musicians missed the beat because of his tipsy state. However, the mistake did not delay her feet as they moved with precision and purpose.

A graceful smile spread across her lips; its existence so pure and bright that it made her appear younger.

"You know, you're-..."

Hera's words were cut short when a guard started to shout obscenities at a man who was staggering against a table trying to regain his balance.

"You damn fool!" the guard raged. "You spilled your drink all over my uniform. You will pay."

She sighed and watched as the guard raised his hand. Hera couldn't stop the guard without making her identity known. Then, if she were caught, her father would put guards at her door again to make sure she didn't escape. Not that she had to stop and think of the consequences when the man's life was in danger, but it was in the back of her mind when she lowered the hood of her cape.

She stepped forward, leaving her dancing partner and stood in between the guard and the man. The guard hardly took a second look at the woman before he slapped her across the cheek.

It took Hera a moment to recover from the surprise of the hit. When she looked back up the guard saw who it was and immediately fell on his knees begging for forgiveness.

"Why should I forgive you, if you were not going to forgive this man?" she asked.

"I'm sorry-..." he stuttered but she interrupted him.

"For hitting your princess or for threatening this man? " she asked.

She ignored those around her as she spoke.

"Both," he murmured, his head down.

"No, you're not. Not yet, but you will be after you scrub the palace floors," she said.

He nodded his head.

Now that everyone knew who she was, it was no longer safe for her here.

"You," she said, directing her gaze to Kevin. "You will escort me back to the palace."

She remained authoritative as she said it but her voice had softened considerably when she spoke to Kevin. Without waiting for him, she started walking towards the castle before people could start saying anything about her unexpected appearance.

As she walked, she rubbed her jaw. It wasn't as though she couldn't take a hit, but she hated the fact that she had been caught off guard.

He lead her out into the crowd to dance, leading first my her hand then turning to face her laying his free hand on her hip as they spun slowly into a waltz like dance. His eyes met hers and he gave her a warm smile, seeming for the first time since they had met in the ally to drop his guard and be a little less aloof. He softly shook his head at her question, and while he did not use his eyes to look around, his ears listened intently for any sound out of the ordinary.
"Alas its not often I get the chance to dance. It is one of my simple pleasures in life. However my, i guess you could call it less than normal appearance, keeps most woman away. I think its the eyes, the glow seems to frighten most."
Though he didn't dance often he lead the dance skillfully and fluiently. Though he didnt dance often he was practiced all the same. His enjoyment allowed him much practice at his younger ages, but partners to dance with wayned in his older years.

(Sorry that I keep switching accounts, it's less data usage for my phone)

A smirk claimed her mouth as she took his hand and allowed him to take the lead. There was a gap between the attending citizens and the local muscicians where there was some room to dance. She allowed the man to lead still, yet her muscles were tense in his arms.

Her eyes were on him, but out of her peripheral, she watched those around them, ready to flee or fight all at the same time.

She cleared her throat as she laid her free hand on his shoulder.

"Do you dance much?" she asked idly.

His lips creased into a smile at her response. It was exactly what he wanted, and expected to hear. He wasent in the buisness to insult others. But he took a sense of duty in wandering and keeping an eye on the lands. Though he knew he wasent of much influence, he knew as someone with the ability to fight, it was his responsability to fight for those whom could not.
As she asked if he dance his smile only became more broad. He turned to face her and held out his hand "If thats an invitation I would love to."
His eyes peered over the mostly drunk dancers and still he smiled. Drink didnt get to him easily and he did love a good dance.

A soft laughter fell from her lips at his retort. Hera nodded her head.

"Touche," she said.

However, the remark left a bitter taste in her mouth.

"My father is related to me by blood. That is all. Do not assume those traits were passed down. I will do more for these people than they will ever know. But, until then, why not enjoy the wine?" she said, smiling though it failed to reach her eyes.

The less he knew, the better, she reasoned.

"Does the man who keeps his words dance?" she asked, gazing out among drunkards and merry dancers.

Most of those who were dancing were falling over there own feet. She shook her head and sat down her glass, looking at him from the concealment of her cloak, awaiting his answer.

He sipped from his goblet almost absent mindedly as she spoke. His eyes flicked across the crowd of people celebrating, but his attention was on her words. They run sweetly in his ears as he would expect a royals voice to do. To most they were gods amoung men, but he knew better. They were nothing more than men born to power and wealth, many of whom only misstreated what was given to them.

He raised a brow but continued to look over the crowd, he diidnt want to bring to much attention to them so he though it best to speak without looking at her. "I am a man of my word, as long a the circumstances allow me to do so. That much I trade pride in." He gulped down the fine whine in his goblet and set it down to fill it again.

"Tis most generouse of you family to throw such a celebration for the people. Im sure it does well to distract them from all they do not have."

Hera abandoned the place where she was and began weaving in and out of the crowd. Her cloak did well to disguise her royal lineage portrayed along her rich features and expensive attire, yet she never once let her guard down. When she spotted the man from earlier, she directed her steps towards him.

"To be fair mi-lady all men wish for treasure, and most men wish for the company of a beautiful women. But I am not here to bribe you. "

Those words rang in her mind like a harp stuck on the same, repetitive chord. It annoyed her considerably that she could not read him, let alone trust him yet he knew a precious secret of hers which she had kept hidden from everyone for years.

She imitated the man and poured herself a goblet of red wine.

"So, you did come," she stated, pointing out the obvious. "It's good to see that you are capable of keeping your word."

He arrived at the feast a short while after it started, he kept his hair covered with his hood but alloowed his face to be seen as many would think it odd if he concealed himself so deeply in a celebration. He wandered the feast slowly, allowing himself to enjoy small nibbled of food here and there that he would pick from platters.
His eyes silently searched the crowd for the women he had spoken to in the ally. He thought for sure she would be present in the celebration seeing as she asked if he would be attending. He stopped himself at the drink table and poured himself a goblet full of whine. He would say one thing for the nobels, they had a taste for good drinks.

The woman had heard his last response as she walked away, but she ignored it. It did not take long for her to reach the castle. The entire way there Hera had been mulling over the events that had taken place. She still did not trust the man and he had struck a nerve.

Still upset with the situation at hand, she paid little mind to the servants that catered to her every need and prepared her for the feast.

When she was dressed ready, she went down into the dining area and visited among other royals. By now, the feast had already begun, but she had to wait until the perfect time to sneak away. It didn't take long for the majority to get drunk and she took advantage of their state to dismiss herself without drawing too much attention.

Outside, she wandered at an unwavering and purposeful pace, hidden beneath a long black cloak which concealed her identity well. Peasants were happily dancing and conversing with smell of liquor on their breath.

Hera sat down on a stump wedged between two trees, away from the people and waited in thoughtful silence.

He watched as her jaw tightened and he leaned against the wall. The action of taking of his cloak was not to impress her it was simply to let her see whom he was. He felt it wrong to keep his identity a secret when he had discovered hers after she had been hiding it. The leather wasent to impress any lady, he was a warrior of sorts who liked to use speed and mobility, this suited that more than adorning heavy armor. He lifted his brow as she said she did not trust him and he only shook his head with a small smirk.

"I wasnet expecting you too, not right away. But seeing as you wont kill me it doesnt look like there is much choice in the matter."

His head crested as the church bells chimed. His eyes flicked back to her as she asked if he would be attending the feast. Without waiting for his answer she turned to make her way to her dutys. He would not protest and simple responded as she walked away.

"Ill make it a point to attend now, adew till we speak again fair maiden."

The last part was mostly for himself. He could tell by her deminour that she wasent one to be swayed by a silver tongue. Knowing it may bring her a little announce to hear him say that he smirked and adorned his cloak once more. He made his way out the opposite end of the ally. Setting forth into the town to find a pub where he may have a drink untill the feast began,.

Out of her peripheral vision, she saw his body as he abandoned the cloak that had concealed it just moments ago. The only response he received from the act, was the tightening of her jaw muscels. Before he had showed her, Hera would have thought that his eyes and hair would be a different color than what they were, but that assumption mattered little.

Some women may have found him 'attractive', if they were into a masculine figure adorned with black attire that defined his muscles and his intimidating stature that would suggest the blood of a god. But, she was deprived of the chance to admire a man by his handsome features alone. Hera was a woman of depth who searched beneath the skin.

"I do not know you and I hardly can trust a stranger," she replied.

What choice did she really have though? Before she could think of something clever, the church bells echoed across the kingdom, signifying the start of the holiday's festivities. Her frown deepened.

"I have duties to attend to. Perhaps, I'll see you tonight at the feast?" she asked.

The annual feast would take place at the town's square just outside the castle's gates. If he did show up, she could speak to him without having to be cautious of anyone stumbling upon them unlike here.

The woman went to leave and would return to the castle unless stalled by him.

He watched as she turned out of suprise. A small smirk lifted his lips as she stared at him with eyes that peirced like daggers. His eyes traced her hair and he though to himself that princesses were amungst his favorite. He had met many that seemed to want to break the cycle of greed there liniage laid out before them. He removed his cloak to allow her to see his body. Adorned in black leather that hugged the skin tightly. A short sword strapped to his mid back. His hair was all white, something odd dor mant to see. His eyes had a faint red tint about them. Like looking at fire. He allowed his eyes to wander and observe her.

"To be fair mi-lady all men wish for treasure, and most men wish for the company of a beautiful women. But I am not here to bribe you. MY curiousity got the best of me when I notice whomever was wearing that armor must be a little to small for its size. To say i expected a women would be false. She nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of his voice. Her expression was not a kind one when her gaze finally fell on the owner of the voice. Green eyes held his gaze and black locks of hair cascade down her shoulders as she tilted her head very slightly to the left.

Hera was very upset with herself for not realizing that she was being followed. Her eyes drifted once down his body before she made the assumption that she could take him and hopefully kill him before he made her secret known to her father. But, alas, not even in this time of desperation could she spill blood.

The woman raised her brow. "What do you want? Gold? Perhaps, a woman? I'm sorry if I disapoint you by saying that I do not negotiate with anyone, especially a man who would think to stalk another into a dark alley way at twilight."

Her voice was deep and sensual and it held the accent of her homeland.

He kept a dafe distance behind her as they weaved through the crowd. He was sure to stay just behind each turn they made as to not be noticed. His brow rose as he watched the warrior walk amoungst the poor. It was odd that a combatant with such bility would sebmerge themselves amoungst the poor. So he drew his hood, the cloak he had being of dull brown burlap so he could blend in well in almost any place. Then something even more astounding took place and Kevin whispered to himself.

"Seems Ive found a kind heart amoungst the selfish breed."

The bag of gold coins was left in the hand of a blind women. Kevin smiled under his hood and followed the warrior swiftly as he made his way off into the ally. He was very curiouse to see whom was shrouded in the maticulouse mantle of metal. His eyes widened of only just a moment as he watch the armor be peeled away. It was a women, He observed her closely as he silently eneterd the ally. He left his hood up to shrowed his face and waiting till all the armor was gone to speak.

"For a women to fight with such skill, then hand the gold away. Im sure you must be nobility of some kind."

Hera took her leave before the festivities could begin. It was very unwise to linger longer than needed. The warrior headed North and soon came to the outskirts of the town where poor populated the streets. At a particular home, she stopped and knocked at a door. An elderly, blind woman answered. Before the woman was able to speak, Hera grabbed her hand and placed the gold in the woman's palm. Without waiting for a response, the warrior left the confused woman at her doorstep and quickly left her in peace.

She then wandered down an alley in order to strip off the armor and put on a guise before heading back to the castle.

Not that she wanted to go back, but it would be suspicious if she didn't return soon. Even though she was royalty, the penalty of a woman fighting was death.

With that happy note, she began to shed the armor, starting with the helmet. When the armor was off, she hid it in an abandoned home through the back door that conveniently faced the alley.

He stood amoungst the crowd and listened as they roared in applause for there new hero. Watching the warrior step to take his prize Kevin lifted his own hands and applauded. He has been watching the intierty of the tournament. The warrior was truley skilled but there had been something ever so slightly off. Watching the movements he notice something was off. It was almost as the warrior was wearing armor to big for his true stature. This only mad Kevin smirk. He liked secrets, they made things more interesting so he wondered what a warrior of such skill would have to hide.

He tried to slip out of the crowd of people, setting himself a distance from the ring so he could watch the warrior. His hope was to follow the warrior once the crowd dispersed.
