Aoife was definitely the best human in the world! Jasper had been to more parties than he cared to count, but none of them were as much fun as the one on one time he spent with Aoife. Whether it was witty banter, or play fighting, there was an energy he had with her that he simply didn't have elsewhere.  She literally made him see the world in more colors than anyone else.

Even playing in the water was an adventure! And they were clothed! Mostly... It was all fun and games until she pulled him underwater. As she grew closer to his face, his eyes began to glow. They exhibited the same pink color from the night they had met, and the closer the two got to each other, the more brilliantly they radiated. But when she pushed away from him and made her way to the surface, they were filled with yellow, as well as an odd green that he didn't display often.

He followed her to the surface, feigning a pouty face. "Now THAT was mean!" He said, folding his arms across his chest and turning his back to her, to conceal the smile on his face. In truth, he was just a bit disappointed, but he probably deserved it. Besides, he had plenty of time to get her back. "You're not tired?" He asked once he was finished pouting. She hadn't slept a wink on the plane. It was a wonder she had the energy to play!

Just by the look in his eyes Aoife could tell Jasper had something evil planned, it just made her tighten her arms around his neck even more, silently insisting he better not do anything or else she choke him.

A playful choke.

Definitely.

Not that she had any intentions of ending his life, especially before a big project together. Knowing Jasper, he’d try to make the experience as fun as possible. After all she’s been through, fun was definitely needed, which made her even more excited for the next day. Sure, everything was haphazardly planned and there was no definite answer to whether or not they could squeeze in everything, but a little abuse of their status may be needed. Seriously. Who could deny Aoife the chance to swim with dolphins even if the session is full?

His movements through the pool were fluid, even with the zigzags and spins. Soft giggles spilled out of her lips, her mind otherwise occupied with not flying off his back. Of course, her giggles immediately stopped when he halted in the six foot area. Body softly floating so her nose was above water and she could breathe, Aoife clung even tighter to him, legs squeezing around his sides. And then the countdown started. Rather than vocalize the screams in her head, Aoife took in a breath and closed her eyes so she wouldn’t die – slightly overdramatic.

That as—

Had he have actually release his grip on her, there was no way she was getting dropped. At least. No way was she going down alone. Her arms tightened around his neck so much he was definitely not going to be able to breathe with ease. Or at all.

“You’re such a butthead, Jasper.” She pouted into his ear, playfully squeezing her arms before releasing her grip altogether and swimming away, kicking off from his back to put as much distance between them. She turned around to face him, a playful frown evident on her lips. Then she sunk under water, pushing off the nearest wall to make her way to him. Even with as low as she was and how late at night it was, he could definitely see her swimming towards him. Once close enough, she grabbed his foot and tugged him under with her, letting out a few air bubbles as she laughed. Her small hands found his cheeks, pulling his face close to hers.

It was a serene moment. Her dark auburn hair floating around their heads, green eyes sparkling – and burning – in the chlorine. Closer and close they became. Just as their lips were about to touch, her hands trailing from his cheeks to his shoulders, Aoife shoved him further down, using that motion to push herself towards the surface.

Uproarious laughter broke through the pool area as an outraged Aoife showed off her articulate charm toward Jasper.  He dodged her splashing as best he could and returned a few of his own. "Come on! You had to know it was coming!" He said with a laugh, before she jumped up, clearly trying to push him down to no avail. She was seconds away from him dipping her beneath the surface yet again when she decided to attach herself to his form and request a ride instead.

She was so adorable he couldn't bring himself to betray her the way he had planned. Obliging her request, he locked his arms under her legs to hold her up, and began the journey to the deeper water.

As he walked, he couldn't help but think of the time Aoife saved his life after he had almost drowned back at the house. At the time, he had feared she would see it as some sort of ploy for attention. But after stressing over it for a whole two or three days, he realized how ridiculous it sounded!

Jasper zigged and zagged, and ducked down and spun in circles as he carried Aoife into the uncharted territory known as the "6 foot" At this level, even Jasper had to stand on his tip toes to stay above water "Alright, ready?" He asked. The insinuation was that he intended to drop her into the water. "One...." The countdown had begun...

"Two..." Nowhere to run now!

"Three!"

Jasper released his grip on Aoife's legs slightly, but still held her firmly to his body. He couldn't be that mean to her! No matter how tempting it might have been...

A light entered her eyes, the first time she genuinely smiled since finding out the news about Stefan. Aoife was glad Jasper wasn't going to hound her with questions. Sure, she needed to figure out what was to be done with the whole situation, but first she needed to get herself together enough to face it all. The timing was horrible. With the new project coming up in a few days, Aoife couldn't let her personal problems damper her performance. Stefan would be dealt with when she found her groove in the new job and knew she could handle it.

Poised to question Jasper's worries, Aoife's auburn brows furrowed. What could he possibly be worried about? Before she knew it, she was splashing in the water. A squeal left her lips the second she resurfaced, flailing about to get her bearings in the water. "Jasper! You... you butt!" She pouted splashing her arms about, floundering for a snazzy comeback. "I can't believe you!" Her hands reached for his shoulders, lifting her weight up to dunk him under the water, a smile on her face.

Of course, being as small as she was, Jasper remained on the surface, laughing at her pathetic attempt of payback. So instead of trying again, Aoife just slipped her arms around his neck. "Onwards, my steed!" She urged him playfully, her grip tightening as he began to move.

The lack of modesty Aoife's bikini displayed didn't escape Jasper's attention. It wasn't her style and he knew it. It said "Kaylee" more so than "Aoife," which made it difficult to enjoy the way he would like to.

The pool was nice. It was quiet due to the hour, but it was still well lit. The sounds of water filtering, as well as the smell of chlorine were nostalgic. Jasper tried to remember when the last time he went swimming was, but he was unable. More than likely it hadn't been that long. It was also likely that alcohol had robbed him of the memory.

Aoife's timid reaction to the water was far more like her than her bathing suit. He watched in amusement as she shied away from the water and returned to his side. He shook his head, admiring her undeniably cute nature. He listened to what she wanted to do the next day. It all sounded fun! "As long as we go Jet Skiing at some point in the day, I'm fine!" he said with a smile. "We'll figure out lunch when the time comes." He was glad Aoife was committed to having a good time. That was kind of the point of the trip. He was fine with doing whatever she wanted.

"There's one thing I'm worried about." He said, concern wavering on his face as he looked out into space. "How are we going to go swimming when the dolphins..." He started. "When you can't even get into the pool!?" He suddenly scooped her up in his arms before she could object or run, and jumping into the pool with her. When they surfaced, he shook the water from his face and laughed. "There. Much better!"

Truth be told, Aoife grabbed the first two pieces she saw that were her size, not caring what they looked like or if the patterns and colors clashed – which surely did in the ensemble she picked out. Fashion was never her thing, a huge reason why she had a fashion stylist in the first place. Aoife was a plain person and, quite frankly, wanted to get out of the shop was fast as possible so as to not put out the workers. Though, they didn’t seem to mind as the two women working behind the counter were throwing heart-eyes at Jasper.

Well. This is what she got for not paying attention to the bikini she chose. The top fit fine, there wasn’t much to cover up anyways. But the bottoms? They were quite… cheeky for her tastes. She wore it all the same – everything would be closed by now – and did her best not to show just how embarrassed she was to be with Jasper when very little was left to the imagination. The blue camo, though. At least that looked nice on her softly tanned skin.

The water touched her toes and she instantly got goosebumps. Aoife let out a little squeak, hopping pathetically away from the water. Once she was settled next to Jasper with her feet well out of the way of water a thought popped into her head. Hazel eyes narrowed and settled on Jasper but the woman remained silent, choosing not to voice her thoughts just in case he hadn’t thought of it himself.

He better not throw her into the water.

After a few moments of silence, Aoife broke it with a loud breath, combing her fingers through her hair. “Itinerary for tomorrow? I want to swim with the dolphins.” There was a brochure at the front desk when they checked in advertising the event. Plus, she’d never done it before. “What do you want to do? The earliest session with the dolphins is 9:30 am, and it lasts a few hours. I figured you can choose lunch because I also want to go scuba diving later too.” Their time on the island was very limited. Naturally, Aoife wanted to squeeze in as much activity as possible – mostly to distract herself from thinking about Stefan. They were going to do every tourist-y thing they could do in the next day. Swimming with dolphins, scuba diving, helicopter ride over the island, attending the luau for dinner. Aoife wanted a grass skirt and a coconut bra, gosh darn it.

Jasper laughed when Aoife expressed that she was feeling "crazy." For most people, that would mean something like skinny dipping, or visiting the pool after it closed. For her, it surely meant they would be visiting the beach instead of the pool. Little did Jasper know, Aoife's adventurous streak was slowly growing. One day she might propose an adventure all on her own! If he managed to stick around that long...

The store had a decent selection, considering it's small size. Jasper didn't take long to browse though, finding a pair of shorts in his size that depicted the sunset just as Aoife approached, holding up her bikini of choice. It was a unique selection, but he had to admit, it suited her! With a smile, he nodded his head. "I approve." He said as he made his way to the cashier to purchase his shorts. He left a sizable tip to make up for their late appearance.

After changing,  the beach was obviously the next stop. For most people, a beach late at night in the middle of the fall meant an empty beach. But there were a few people out, enjoying dates together. In the darkness of the night, Jasper couldn't make out any of their faces, but they were most likely tourists, there for only a few days, just like the two celebrities. One couple was on their way back to the hotel, another sitting on a towel, similar to the way Jasper and Aoife had been before their flight. Free of their shoes, Jasper took Aoife by the hand, and pulled her into a light jog toward the ocean. The water was freezing upon contact, but Jasper lead Aoife to walk the shoreline just the same. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but walking with their feet in the water seemed to be the right move for the time being. Eventually though, Jasper was certain he would Grab Aoife, and toss her into the ocean.

It took no time for the two to find their room – years of practice made the adventure an easy one. Much like the rest of the hotel and every other tourist attraction, the décor was very tropical and bright. While Jasper claimed his bed, Aoife wandered into the bathroom. The shower was huge and in the corner of the room was a breathtaking Jacuzzi tub that could fit at least three adults. Aoife’s heart stopped at the sight; it was so beautiful.

Her eyes settled on Jasper as she left the bathroom, finding him already on a bed. She pondered his question as she took a seat next to him, leaning back on her arms. “I’m feeling crazy.” Aoife briefly caught herself thinking about going skinny dipping, but decided it was in their best interests not to be found by paparazzi completely naked together. “Let’s swim in the ocean. I’m sure there’s a shop downstairs that’ll still be open, let’s go.” Hopefully, anyways. It was pretty late. If the plan failed there was always another. Like food. Jasper was probably getting hungry; Aoife, on the other hand, not so much. Food was the last of her worries with the jumble of questions in her head about Stefan. They would have address it sooner or later, but right now, Aoife wanted to have fun. Jasper was the perfect person to do that with.

She shimmied her way to the edge of the bed, pausing one last time to take in the beautiful room and bask in just how comfortable the beds were before hauling herself to her feet. “Come on, lazy butt. Sleep is for the weak.” Offering a hand out to her companion, Aoife pathetically helped him up to his feet.

Much to her surprise, the two made it downstairs and to the small stores five minutes before they would close. Aoife quickly led them into one that had a few suits, making a point to give her card to the cashier and apologize for deciding to browse so close to closing time. It took her no time to find a bikini that would fit – her measurements were engraved into her brain. Making her way over to Jasper in the men’s section, she dramatically held the two pieces up to her body, posing. “What do you think?” Even she had to admit, it was quite the pick. A neon pink triangle top and blue camo bottoms. Aoife: Fashion Maven. Somebody call Vogue.

As taboo as it should have been, holding Aoife's hand in his own felt natural. If Jasper even noticed it was happening, he didn't hesitate. His hand was strong and firm, and his heartbeat steady, as if this was an everyday occurrence. After check in, he listened To Aoife's plan and nodded his head in approval, laughing to himself at her over-the-top display in pressing the elevator door.

But when the door closed, Jasper realized that it was the first time since that moment that the two had been alone in a place where no one else could possibly see them. He couldn't help but recall the events of their last time in a hotel room together, and a wave of desire flushed over him. With a gentle smile, he pushed it to the back of his mind, and ushered his companion out of the elevator, and down the hall.

The room was much different than the one in New York. The Tropical theme was evident in the plants that decorated the room, and the light that flooded in from the skylight was breathtaking. The two full-sized beds served as a reminder that this wasn't a couples trip, but rather a vacation for two friends, but it didn't drop Jasper's spirits one bit! He plopped onto the bed closest to the door, and it seemed to absorb him into it, as he rolled over and looked up at the ceiling. "Why isn't my bed this comfortable?" He asked Aoife, not really expecting an answer. He sat up and scooted closer to the edge of the bed. He had to admit, he had made a good choice. Even the view from the window was amazing! He could see people out enjoying the beach despite the fact that it wasn't summertime. "Are we swimming in the pool, or the ocean?" He asked. Either way, they would have to find swimsuits first..

The only thing stopping Aoife from completely sitting on Jasper’s lap was the arm rest situated between the two in an attempt to allow strangers some semblance of personal space when cramped up against another.  Instead, Aoife gracefully leaned on the arm rest to grant her shoulder contact with Jasper’s.  It was casual and nonchalant – should they be noticed, it just looked like they were back to being close friends.  There wasn’t any doubt that Stefan’s story had gone around the media hundreds of times. People were still buzzing about it, in which case it would just look like a friend comforting another.  Besides, it wasn’t a secret that the two auditioned for a movie where they would be co-stars or that the two had a past flame together. Oh goodness, the gossip will be dirty.

Despite already being in such a panicked state, just thinking about the rumors that could possibly form made Aoife’s heart pace quicken. Surely it was about to jump out of her chest.  She needed to calm down.

Her hand found Jasper’s; however, instead of intertwining their fingers, Aoife’s settled on his wrist. She found his pulse and began to count what she could feel – perhaps a childish tactic, but it helped calm her own racing heart. Slowing her breathing was easy, as Jasper was the epitome of serenity despite being carried through the sky in a metal death trap. Aoife just watched his chest and matched the rise and fall of hers to his.  It was completely magical how her anxiety had no effect on Jasper, he took it in stride and reacted in such a soothing way. Even Stefan had trouble with it, especially during long flights together – he’d down a few drinks.

The flight went by as smooth as can be. It was just getting dark when they got into the taxi.  The sun setting over the horizon was awfully reminiscent of their first encounter together, Aoife didn’t realize that she threaded her fingers through his, eyes locked onto the sunset.

Aoife gave her best try, but upon landing in Hawaii, Jasper managed to pay for everything, the bugger. With a playful scowl, Aoife set her narrowed eyes on his face, studying him, answering his question with silence. She would find a way. “Let’s at least check out the room first. Then…” Her words trailed off as she lead the way to the elevator, pushing the button with a grandiose and totally badass – but gentle – kick of her foot – an urge she couldn’t resist. “Swimming. Then we’ll go swimming.”

It was the second time in a week that Jasper had flown with Aoife. And this time they weren't flying alone in first class! The plane wasn't crowded as it was late at night, but they weren't the only passengers either. It seemed, though, that they hadn't attracted much attention. But honestly, that wasn't Jasper's biggest concern.

Aoife's fear of flying was something common, and yet it was something that Jasper honestly couldn't wrap his head around. Aoife was a star! She had to travel here and there to do just about anything! You'd think flying would be something she eventually got accustomed to,and yet...

When She lay her head on his shoulder, he put his arm around her. It wasn't him trying to make a move on her, but rather trying to keep her relaxed. He ran his fingers through her hair, the way he used to do to put her to sleep back on the show. He reached across to hold her hand with his other, and smiled. "Don't worry." He said. "You're not allowed to die before we appear in a movie together." He said with a smile. Though her fear couldn't be quelled so easily. She did seem to relax a bit. Jasper shook his head in response to her words of thanks. "I haven't done anything Aoife." he said. "Just felt like going to the beach." It was obviously more than that, but in his eyes, it was just instinct. He didn't feel he was going out of his way to help Aoife, because it was what he wanted to do.

The flight from LA to Hawaii was almost six hours. During that time, Jasper did whatever he could to make Aoife feel relaxed. He joked, and talked with her about everything except Stephan. When they finally landed, there was no welcoming party for them this time. No bags to claim. It was early morning, and the airport was already bustling with people arriving from different locations, or taking off to different spots. Unlike LAX, many people seemed to notice the two walking together. But it didn't take long to hail a cab, and get a ride to the hotel.

Even the cab ride was beautiful! The sun coming over the horizon gave birth to a gorgeous pink sky! The shade was reminiscent of the color of Jasper's eyes on the very first time the two met. Jasper's eyes were flooded with a serene yellow in that moment though. The smell of the air was completely different from back home. It was clean, and seemed to wash over you like a wave of unknown relaxation.

Upon their arrival, Jasper hurried to pay the driver, still conscious of the fight he and Aoife were having, and proceeded to check in. Once they had gotten their room keys, he turned to his companion with a smile. So what's first, m'lady?"

It wasn’t until she stepped onto the place did the stone settle in her stomach.  Heavy with anxiety, Aoife followed Jasper to their seats, taking the window seat.  At least that way she’d be away from the prying eyes of others.  Her posture was rigid, anyone with two eyes would be able to tell just how uncomfortable she was in the situation.  Flying was terrifying.  She had absolutely no control over anything but herself, and she hated that.  What if something went wrong and the plane went down? Or what if someone hijacked the plane?  She would die, that’s what would happen.  For a brief moment she contemplated it, the ruins of the once happily engaged woman she was surfacing for a brief moment.  Of course, any and all thoughts about Stefan vanished the second the pilot’s voice came over the intercom and announced take-off to be in five minutes.

“Oh my gosh.  Jasper.” Aoife whispered, wide hazel eyes searching his for some sign of comfort.  “Oh my gosh.  What was I thinking?” Her hands were clutching the arm rests for dear life and her heart was racing with anxiety.  Lift off was always the worst.  “Oh my gosh, Jasper, I’m so dumb.”  She placed her forehead against his shoulder, eyes shut tight.  “If we don’t die from a place crash, I’m going to die from a heart attack, I swear.”  A soft chuckle left her lips, perhaps she was overreacting, but that was the only way she could combat the anxiety.  In the past when she went flying, Stefan always made sure he was there next to her.  He’d keep her distracted by playing with her hands and babbling on about anything he could think of, and just as they were finally taking off, he’d kiss the daylights out of her.  Aoife couldn’t ask Jasper to do that.

Instead, Aoife’s hand found Jasper’s.  She knew he would understand.  A thin finger traced the lines of his palm and eventually began to trace the outline of his hand.  Unlike hers, his fingers looked strong whereas Aoife’s were thin and graceful.  His hand easily engulfed hers.  And as she threaded her fingers through his, the feeling of her engagement ring no longer on her finger, it felt right.  Hazel eyes opened briefly, looking up into Jasper’s ever-changing eyes with a small smile.  “Thank you for doing this for me.” She whispered so only he could hear, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

Everything Aoife did was always adorable. From the way she struggled to catch his keys to the way she hesitantly adjusted his seat and mirrors. Everything about her made him want to smile! But even after all these years, he still hadn't told her that, and he still couldn't! It was already questionable, the two of them going off on a tropical vacation together. He wouldn't do anything to add to the awkwardness. He instead chuckled as she made her objections to him paying for the hotel. "Think of it more like me helping you plan your bithday party, and helping with the expenses as a birthday gift!"

Of course, her birthday had already passed. And he hadn't even been able to call and wish her a Happy Birthday for fear of her reaction. But that wouldn't happen again. No matter what happened from this point on, he intended to stay in Aoife's life, even if it had to be as a friend, or a shoulder to cry on. He wouldn't let the past, much less another man stop him from being around her ever again.

A rush of excitement hit Jasper's gut as they arrived at the airport. He noted ehr eagerness to pay the parking fees before he could even offer. So that was how it was going to be... "Challenge Accepted." He said under his breath as they quickly found a parking space. He got out of his seat only to be halfway dragged toward the building, as if their haste would somehow draw less attention to them. Nonetheless, he accepted the contact, and scanned his phone at checkin for their boarding passes. The airport was busy, even at this late hour, but the flight to Hawaii was all but empty. Boarding took no time at all, and soon, they were seated and ready to begin their adventure! In a few hours, they would be in sunny Hawaii! But first, Aoife had to survive yet another plane ride...

She hadn't been expecting him to toss the keys to her, and as a result she awkwardly fumbled around with them, her hands doing a crazy dance before emerging victorious with the keys safely in her fingers. It would be a shame to drop Jasper's expensive car keys on the ground. Not to mention extremely embarrassing. After a huff of victory, Aoife slid into the driver's seat and adjusted what needed to be - it was painful. She hated letting others drive her car because everything would be changed and moved, and it was annoying to put it back the way she liked it. Aoife cringed the whole time she adjusted the seat so her legs could reach the pedals and tilted the mirrors so she could see everything correctly.

"But it's my party," she whined playfully as she navigated them to the airport. Aoife was a good driver, very cautious and aware of her surroundings while appearing very casual in the seat. However, despite that, she rarely drove anywhere. Traffic was always killer so she preferred to walk to places that were close to the apartment, and even then most times a driver would take her whenever she needed to be as per business. Hazel eyes caught his for a brief moment before returning to the road. "That's like me inviting you to my birthday party, but you have to plan and supply everything - it's criminal."  Of course, she knew it would be near impossible to convince Jasper to let her pay for it all, so any attempt at argument was ended there. She would make sure to take advantage of any situation where money was involved in the future.

Being already in the hub of the city, as well as being in a vastly populated city, it didn't take long for them to reach the airport. After paying any and all fees to park and cover the ticket to keep Jasper's car at the airport for when they returned, Aoife pulled the sleek car into the best spot she could find and turned to Jasper with a twinkle of anticipation in her eyes. "Ready?" They would need to be quick, lest they be spotted and surrounded by hordes of supporters. Without waiting for an answer, Aoife slid out of the car and made her way to Jasper's side, handing him the keys and grabbing his wrist when he was out of the car. She immediately bolted for the building, careful of the traffic and any people they would encounter once inside the building.

Jasper hadn't really expected Aoife to agree to picking up and going to Hawaii on the fly! It wasn't her style. But he was glad that she did! She could use a vacation as much as he!  As she picked up her things to throw them away, he picked up the blanket. After thinking on it, he decided to throw the blanket away as well. It was a shame. He liked that blanket. But it just wasn't worth spending an hour cleaning sand out of his trunk.

When she asked him to book the flight, he picked up his phone and go to work. But first, he tossed her the keys. "Alright. You drive." He said, as He got in the passenger seat and paid full attention to his phone. He was pulled away from it only when Aoife offered her card to pay for the flight. He looked at her defiantly, but eventually gave up and took the card from her. "Fine but I'm getting the hotel..." He said with a huff. He booked the flight, and placed the card in his back pocket so he wouldn't lose it. He then proceeded to book a room at "The Modern Honolulu." It was a top class Hotel that he'd always wanted to stay at. He booked a single room with two full sized beds for three nights. This would be an awesome getaway, even if it was lined with stressful matters to deal with.

"All done." He told her, as he put his phone away. He knew that the coming days would be stressful, regardless of their surroundings. But he couldn't think of a better way to handle stress, than in Hawaii with Aoife...

Aoife chewed on the inside of her cheek, brows furrowed in thought as she nodded her head to his words.  There were so many ‘ifs’ and ‘woulds’ and ‘coulds’ that popped up into her head, but she refrained from voicing them, not wanting to bug Jasper even more.  The solution to all her problems was at the apartment waiting for her – her phone.  The only way to tell how things would go is to talk to Stefan.  Aoife was unsure if she wanted to confront that all just yet.  To her, it felt like Jasper would leave her when she got into everything, and that wasn’t something she wanted just yet.

“I’m not sure,” She mumbled in regards of Hawaii.  Originally, it was brought up as a joke – she hadn’t meant it at all – but the more he talked about it, the more Aoife found herself liking the idea of going to Hawaii with him.  Sure, she didn’t have a week in advance to pack her bags five times to make sure she had everything, but that was the glory of it.  Spur-of-the-moment things weren’t something Aoife did.  At all.  It was completely against her nature to not be in control.  With her almost-marriage in shambles, what exactly was she in control of?  The apartment was shared as well as everything in it – Aoife shared half of her life with the man she loved.  She already lost control, might as well embrace it.

Sparkling green eyes turned to Jasper.  “Let’s get the hell out of here.  Think we can book us two seats before we get to the airport?”  Aoife jumped up to her feet, running to dispose of the ice cream into the nearest trash bin while Jasper took care of the blanket they had been sitting on.  She was at his car before he was, slipping in once the doors were unlocked.  Thankfully, she had enough common sense to grab her wallet.  After rummaging through, Aoife withdrew a card and offered it to him.  “Here, it’s my party, so I’ll pay for the tickets.”

The contact between Aoife and Jasper was odd. Despite it being what Jasper wanted, it wasn't. The feelings that flowed from him to her weren't feelings of affection, but concern. That kind of put a damper on it. "Hawaii, huh?" She deserved a break. "As long as you're in Atlanta in three days, why not?" Then she told him that he was invited as well! He had to admit, after this crazy week, Hawaii sounded amazing. But was it a good idea? His instincts told him no, but his logical mind told him it was better than letting her go alone.

"I'm down if you are." He said, pulling out his phone and doing a quick search. "If we go to the airport now, we can catch the last flight. We'll be there by morning, but we'll have to get clothes while we're there." Jasper loved impromptu adventures like this, but Aoife tended to be more reserved. While she was most likely joking about going to Hawaii, he was halfway there in his mind.

Once again, Jasper was unable to answer Aoife's question. Not because he didn't have an opinion, but because his opinion was biased. If he said Aoife shouldn't forgive Stefan, it was influenced by his feelings for her, but if he said she should, he'd be lying. Dark blue eyes turned to a deep brown as he released a sigh. "That depends." He said, deciding to go an alternate route. "On if you believe you could still have a happy and healthy marriage." The ice cream no longer looked appetizing, though Jasper had only had two spoonfuls.

But then the subject totally changed, focusing less on Stefan, and more on Jasper and Aoife. Jasper listened in silence, hints of a warm red sneaking into his eyes, as he smiled gently. She had no idea what her words meant to him. But for now, he couldn't tell her. Doing so would start a whole new world of issues. But hopefully, she could understand, even a small bit of it in his expression. "So are we going to Hawaii or not?" He asked, with a smile and a wink.

She leaned into him, setting the carton of ice cream down on the blanket before slipping her own arm around him.  In Jasper’s arms again.  It was ironic how the last time she was suffering like this, it was Stefan who consoled her.  The two, Jasper and Stefan, had switched roles.  “Can I take my self-pity party to Hawaii?”  A soft giggle slipped through her lips, spreading across his collar bone.  Aoife turned her head to look up at him, getting a beautiful view of his sharp chin and, thankfully, clear nose.  “You’re invited.”  Of course, he was the only person she could trust to talk to at the moment, so he’d be the only other person at the party.  In which case, it wouldn’t even be a party.  How disappointing.

“If he had half a brain to begin with, he wouldn’t have cheated on me in the first place,” She mumbled pointedly, sitting up out of Jasper’s arms and grabbing the ice cream once more.  Another spoonful was pushed into her mouth as the two sat in silence.  “I guess the real question is, if he did beg me to forgive him, would I? Should I even give him a second chance?”  Aoife took a thoughtful bite of ice cream, holding the spoon in her mouth as she looked out to the water.

“You know, I don’t regret what we did, Jasper.”  Duh, she already said that.  “In that moment, it felt… right.  Even after knowing what Stefan did, I don’t think if it as a one-up on him.”  Green eyes turned to him, a serious light in them.  “I acknowledge what we did as morally wrong, but I don’t feel bad for doing it.  And I think it would be best for me to get all of this sorted out with Stefan and get myself together before I pursue whatever this might be between us.”  Aoife was in a fragile spot.  It would be so easy for her to throw herself at him, but she knew it wouldn’t be genuine. That was something he didn’t deserve, no one did.

There was no right answer to Aoife's words; No magic formula that could take her pain away. Jasper had been in Aoife's position before, but then, he had been in Stefan's too. The reality was, he had never experienced a healthy relationship like theirs. He and Shay had been toxic to each other from the very beginning...

But it was very possible that Aoife and Stefan's marriage was doomed from the start as well; Doomed because Aoife's heart, and Stefan's mind, were elsewhere. For some reason, the thought brought Jasper no comfort.

When Aoife brought up her own wrongs, deep blue eyes darkened yet again. He wanted to tell Aoife that their kiss was different; He wanted to tell her that it was for their job, but they both knew it wasn't true, and he didn't want to take away from what very well may have been their only moment to have each other.

She said she didn't feel bad for it. But he wondered if it was true. Did she not feel bad because it made her feel even, or because of who it was that she kissed? Jasper wanted Aoife more than anything in the world, but he didn't want to be her leverage! None of this was right!

She needed more time. And that was understandable. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and pressed his forehead against the top of her head. "You take whatever time you need." He said. He knew she didn't need permission, much less from him. But she needed support, and he would offer it in whatever way he could.

For now, that meant allowing the woman he loved to cry to him about the man that she loved. Romance sucks... She didn't know if she could make things work with him, but she hadn't completely ruled it out. Nothing about the coming days was going to be easy...

And then came the question that Jasper never would have expected. Not from Aoife at least... What -did- Jasper predict? How did he think all this would play out? Honestly, he had no idea... He sighed before parting his lips to speak.

"If he's got half a brain at all, he'll get down on his knees and BEG you to forgive him..." Jasper had a history of messing good things up for himself. But Stefan's mistake, was one he was sure he would NEVER make, if he ever got the chance...

Taking a deep breath, Aoife stabbed the spoon into the ice cream, leaving the carton on her lap as she leaned back on her arms.  “I think that’s what hurts the most.  He made that decision.  He slept with her even though he knew I was waiting for him.  But..” She trailed off, biting her tongue.  She was also at fault too, wasn’t she?  Maybe it happened under different circumstances, but she basically did the same thing Stefan did.  For some reason, kissing Jasper didn’t feel like a mistake.

“We did it too.”  Aoife’s voice was small, her head bowed in shame, the sun glasses slipping off her face to reveal red, puffy eyes.  “I kissed you knowing full well I was promised to Stefan.”  Her fingers removed the ring, holding the silver circle in her palm. “And I don’t feel bad about it.”  Green bloodshot eyes looked to Jasper’s, holding his gaze.  “I know I need to talk to him, but I want to wallow in my self-pity for a few more days. I bet he’s called already, had a lawyer call already.”  Thank goodness she left her phone at the apartment.

Aoife felt defeated.  It was a typical celebrity break up.  Her fingers curled around the ring.  “I don’t know if we’ll be able to fix this only because I don’t think I’ll be able to look at him again.”  She chuckled, shaking her head and slipping the ring back on her finger.  “What’s your prediction, Jasper?  How hard do you think he’ll try to deny the articles?  How hard do you think he’ll try to get me back?”
