Rin had watched Chi's match closely, and to be honest, she had been worried. But Chi managed to pull off a win! Though Rin was proud of her teammate, she was unable to applaud. Chi's victory meant that they would be fighting each other in the next round. Rin offered Chi an acknowledging head nod, before leaving the arena and heading back out to where the vendors were. She needed some new supplies if she was going to be ready for the next round. She would have to miss out on the match between the Uchiha and the girl from the Sand, but it was a necessary sacrifice.

Chiharu's illusions vanished as Kara dropped. Falling to her knees Chiharu could feel the wear on her body. Kara required so much chalkra to defeat. Yet some how she managed to win against a strong foe. Someone with such a different power than Chiharu had seen before.

Slowly she pulled herself up and brushed off; her eyes Raidon coming in to retreive Kara. Chiharu looked down slightly and tried to speak to him, "the sleep will wear off quick I didn't want to...harm her.." Chiharu fiddled with her sleeves before continuing, "she fought very well. Lightly she bowed before taking off to see how Shaide was fairing and to rebuild her strength before the next fight.

She would need a plan that was for certain.  Someone who knows all her tricks, weaknesses, and strengths would prove troubling...

When the proctor declared Raidon the victor, he sighed, and removed the blade from Rikona's throat. "Kara's a medical ninja. I'm sure she could take care of your injuries in no time." If she's awake, that is... "It's up to you, of course."

He returned his blade to it's sheath, and put some distance between himself and Rikona. He knew it was a bad idea to try to assist her, especially after defeating her in battle. Adding insult to injury wouldn't help his case. He then retreated to the viewing area to allow space for the next match.

Once the proctor declared Chiharu the winner, Raidon jumped down into the arena to gather his teammate. She had put on a good fight, but in the end, she wasn't well equipped to battle such a tricky opponent. The match had been decided as soon as she failed to defeat her opponent quickly.  His eyes settled on Chi for just a moment. Now that she was victorious, her next opponent would be her teammate. He wondered how she would fare against such a precise ninja, who knew her techniques and tricks well...

He carried Kara up and placed her next to Gin, before heading back down for his match..

When Gamasoka failed to bind Chiharu in her attack, and Chi went into hiding, Kara immediately abandonned her attempt to go into Sage Mode. She looked around for her opponent, crimson red eyes scanning the area for any sign of movement. But without the aid of Sage Mode, she was unable to easily detect where her opponent would strike! Suddenly, a tree began to sprout up out of the ground! capturing Kara's arms and legs, leaving only her torso exposed! But for Kara, that wasn't the worst part! Kara was rager large-chested compared to most girls her age, and it was a trait she could be self-conscious about. She felt extremely exposed in her position, her shoulders pulled back, and in turn, her chest poking out. Her face flushed red as she struggled to free herself from the technique. "Wood Style? How is that even possi-" But before she could complete her question, she fell unconscious. This marked the end of the second match. Without a doubt, when she awoke, she would feel deep embarrassment, especially in the face of her teammates. She could only hope her performance had impressed the proctors.

Chiharu noticed Kara trying to rebuild her sage mode, the frog heading directly toward her was a problem too. Chiharu quickly signed for a jutsu, it was time to act. She disappeared in a cloud of smoke avoiding conflict with the frog directly. Her sights werw toward Kara.

Demonic Illusion : Tree Bind Death.

A jutsu enhanced from her bloodline, with out a quick release Kara would be caught in a daze a tree would form in back of her vines and branches binding her against the tree and Chiharu would have the opening to attack. A needle dipped in the moon village's specail poison for paralyzing prey. A small poke in the neck and the proctor would have to end the match. Kara wouldn't even be able to speak, but it wouldn't hurt her just make her sleep for a while. Chiharu didn't want to kill anyone afterall.

Question was would Kara build up the energy fast enough or was she still paying attention to allow the possibility to avoid the attack. If she did avoid she would have the time to enter sage mode and even more so odds would be in her favor to end the match.

Separate forums have been made for each match in the sparring section.  The current contestants may continue their match here.

Despite losing Sage mode, Kara's attack managed to make contact. It hadn't been a critical blow though, and that meant Kara was in a tough place. She had to remain perfectly still for almost a full minute in order to return to Sage mode, and she hadn't built up enough clout on Mt. Myoboku to summon the Toad Sages and let them gather the Nature energy for her! Chiharu would never give her the time it took to absorb more nature energy! Or so Kara thought. But Chiharu didn't go on the offensive, despite this great opportunity! She instead took this opportunity to try to build up chakra for herself! She must have been running low!

Kara would attempt to use this opportunity to go back into Sage Mode. It would surely cinch the fight for her if she succeeded. "Gamasoka! Buy me some time!" She said, as she sat cross legged, and took a deep breath, beginning to absorb Nature energy as the large purple frog went on the offensive. Unlike the other toads from Mt. Myoboku, Gamasoka didn't carry any blades or weapons. But she had a unique ability of her own. She lept toward Chi, and shot her tongue toward the girl as if she were attempting to catch a fly. If she succeeded in catching the girl with her tongue, she wouldn't attempt to eat her though. Instead, she would wrap her tongue around the moon ninja in a death grip, as her tongue began to absorb the chakra that she built up. Gamasoka's ability was draining chakra from her targets through her tongue. Of course, even if she failed to catch her, or even if Chi broke free, All Kara really needed was one minute. If Chi failed to force her to move within that time limit, Kara would return to Sage Mode, and go on the offensive once more...

The wide swipe Kara used was able to knock Chiharu out of her petal vortex and slamming against the wall. Holding her head Chiharu looked up noticing Kara was changing back out of her sage mode. "I..I made it this far?" Chiharu thought to herself but it wasn't going to be enough. She would have to charge her chalkra back up now before another jutsu otherwise she would risk leaving herself open for attack without any defense. It was time to conserve and build back up. Her eyes looked up at her owl who still seemed to be ignoring her. "Great." She mumbled and shook her head as she pulled herself up.

Her breathing changed, she shook her head again and prepared a kunai under her sleeve, hiding it to use as a surprise attack if things were to get close. Which by the looks of them both hitting a power decrese it had too.

Chiharu prepared herself, but instead of attacking she began to charge her chalkra. This way Kara's sage mode would fully run out.

This was getting frustrating! Chiharu excelled at avoiding major damage by means of trickery. And she made no attemnpt to inflict damage, but rather to incapacitate her opponent. She wasn't the kind of opponent that Kara was good against. She would have been a much better match for Raidon. But that didn't mean Kara didn't plan to go all out!

When Chiharu faded, and left an odd barrage of flower petals in her wake, Kara could only assume they were intended to do something tricky, like put her to sleep! She didn't form any hand signs this time. Instead she gathered wind natured chakra in her hands, and thrust it outward.

Wind Release: Air Palm!

Kara had come up with this jutsu by watching the Hyuga clan. Each thrust sent a small gust of wind from her palm. Much smaller than the Driving Gust technique, but potentially more dangerous due to its increased focus. But the target this time wasn't Chiharu. She fired several palms all around her, attempting to blow the petals away from her before they could have their desired effect!

But then, a senbon needle tore into Kara's exposed side, drawing blood as it flew past!  Kara had been so focused on the flow petal jutsu that she hadn't considered a secondary attack! Her eyes quickly scanned the room, but instead of "looking" for her opponent, she used her Sage abilities to lock onto her chakra. Once she had located it, she charged with Chakra blades ready once more! But before she reached her opponent, her Sage jutsu wore off!

She must have used up too much chakra with those air palms! She should have had at least two minutes left! Losing Sage mode would lead to a significant drop in speed. But that didn't stop her assault. She aimed for the last location she had sensed her opponent, but instead of a forward thrust, she attempted to attack with a wide swipe with both hands in attempt to cover more range. She was at a severe disadvantage without the boosted stats she got from Sage Mode. She needed to try to end this as soon as possible.

'Right"

I reply to Raidon  before retreating to higher ground behind him .. The Chuunin where on point just as Raidon was . As they weave hand signs my sharingan begin to copy it sign for sign . "Water release :water wall " It was a good thing they where there to protect the innocent by-standards.

"****"

There was a squad that got eliminated from the capture the flag down there. They wasn't by the crowd but in the path of the gas . They wasn't my allies and i had no ties to them but instinct took over and i started to head back for some reason . I made it just before the gas got to them . I begin to mimic the hand signs i just copied

"Water release : water wall"

They where safe for now . The water fuse with the gas and dissolve it . "I think its a good time to leave now " I begin my way back to higher ground where Raidon was ..

Raidon watched as Kara attempted to use a Summoning frog to burn away the attack before it came, but much to her, and his own surprise, the powder seemed to be fire-resistant! Instead of burning away, it was blown around the stadium! As it approached, Raidon readied himself. "Gin!" He called, before jumping high up onto the Stadium walls and out of range. Many of the audience members weren't shinobi though. There had to be a way to help them all! But it seemed several of the Chuunin proctors were already on the job. A squad of them positioned themselves in front of the audience, and began weaving signs simultaneously.

Water Release: Water Wall

A giant wall of water rose between the Arena, and the stands. And amount of the powder that floated their way, would be absorbed into the water, bonding with it instead of affecting the innocent bystanders. Raidon breathed a sigh of relief as he realized that the shinobi running the exam were quite competent. Even still, he remained at his elevated location. No need to risk getting caught in the next attack...

As the girl summoned her frog and Chiharu's eyes twinged. In this moment things were going to get rough. While the focused on her tags she began to build up energy. Surprising to see a third owl as it was for herself she must have proven herself more to them. As Kara displayed her justsu the fire meant to destroy explosive tags? Full of inhalent!? The flames did destroy the tags in a exsplosive note, sending powder scattering the room mainly around the peanut gallery.  "I hope everyone holds their breath." This still had a chance to come back and assist her. Kara's wind moves would sturr up the powder so where it could land would be unpredictable!  That wasn't the case right now although.

Two of her owls were hit and destroyed by the flames, while the third just missed it being the newest of the owls he must have been faster. Yet as it circled it only kept itself in the air. "Oh great, he's not going to listen to me." Chiharus shook her head, she still had a few more options.

"Here we go.Hyakkaryouran." her signs fromed as the frog lept at her, petals scattered and within them chiharu vanished not first by getting a peice of her shirt nicked by Kara's blade. The vanishing within the heavy petals wasn't that easy but now it was to set kara into a sprial of petals, the wind sturring around some dust that had settled on the ground by where Chiharu's feet were before the disappearing. Somewhere she danced withing the petals using the mixture of her speed and the winds speed to hide her of course going this fast with a fast oppoent only meant aiming was impossible! Medical throwing needles were sent flying into the sprial directed to hit Kara but as it was stated they could quite possibly miss. But for now Chiharu wanted to get Kara to slow down or see if she could out last the sage mode.

"So it -is- an inhalant!" Kara said with a grin, as Chiharu gave away information on how her technique worked. That meant she had taken the correct course of action. And all she had to do was avoid breathing the substance in the future. Of course, she had already blown the cloud away, but she couldn't imagine the Moon ninja wouldn't try to use such a useful drug again.

Keen eyes watched as the girl used a kunai to cut her hand. Kara knew well what that meant. Quickly, she used her teeth to cut a hole in her thumb and began weaving signs as well, certain that she could still weave faster than her opponent. Given her opponents head start, they slammed their hands into the ground at the exact same time.

Summoning Jutsu!

Beneath Kara's feet, appeared a large, purple frog. She wasn't as big as the leaders of the Frog clan, but still large enough for Kara to stand on her head. But Chiharu had summoned Three owls! Three! That was almost unfair! Immediately, the owls started circling, dropping tags that appeared the same as the first one. "Gamasoka!" Kara called!

"On it!" the frog replied. They immediately began syncing their chakra, and forming two different sets of hand signs

Wind Release: Driving Gust
Fire Release: Grand Flame

The two techniques combined to form a powerful collaboration technique, resulting in a wave of flames that flew toward the sky, burning away the tags before they could fall withing dangerous range, and hopefully taking out the owls as well!

Gamasora then jumped up into the air, aiming to land directly on top of Chiharu. Of course, the girl could easily dodge what an ancient Sage had referred to as "Bringing down the house jutsu" But that was the moment that Kara was waiting for! As soon as Chiharu's form presented itself, Kara would make her attack, lunging forward with chakra blades surrounding her hands. It was a jutsu usually used for medical purposes, but they could also be used as weapons. The right blade aimed for Chiharu's torso, immediately followed by a strike from the left hand, which aimed for her right leg, hoping to cut off her movements.

As the match unfolded before her eyes, Rikona grew that much more tense. Tendrils of hair shielded her expression from those around her as she sat on the edge of her seat. She thought over the last match and the coming ones. If she had to go against Raidon, she doubted she would be the victor. Yet, thinking that way was not helpful either.

The match took an interesting turn when owls rained down tags. She looked at Kara, gauging her face for any sign of what could be going through her head. It was doubtful she would go down without a good fight, but Rikona was still nervous for her.

Zuberi paced in his corner. His muscles flexed as he watched the current match, his eyes following every movement the fighters made. While the last match played over and over inside of his head. What made Kiz quit like that? It had to have something to do with that water attack that the woman used. Zuberi circled a few times and then plopped down belly first on the stairs before him. One arm crossed over the other as he growled to himself. Those around him stared at his actions, but none made a movement towards his position. They kept a watchful eye on the beast and the powder that was now filling the arena.

Zuberi laid his head upon his arms and stared out blankly at the fight. He was prepared for what was to come his way. Tsu was not the easiest opponent to face. While Zub was brute force, the other two where more tactical, often thinking far ahead of Zuberi, expecting his actions as they came. If anything, the beast thought, he was predicable in what he was going to do. He would have to change this up, keep himself within reason and only release his full strength when the time was right.

These two fighters amused Zuberi. There was some power coming from the one, and the moon nin seemed to have a very good mind for tactics. Filling an arena with dust, or whatever this stuff was. Zuberi lifted his head, gazing around the fighting arena to look for his friends. Only one of them it seems would be continuing on in this exam.

It made sense that Kara entered Sage Mode before the match started. Without Raidon and Gin to form a distraction, she wouldn't have the time it took to do it during the match. Sharingan still active, Raidon's eyes shifted over to Gin, who was unusually excited about the match, yelling and cheering for Kara. This made him laugh to himself.

Kara was a pivotal person in both brother's lives. Gin and Kara got along swimmingly, mostly because Kara was always protecting Gin from Raidon's temper. Raidon and Kara were always fighting. Raidon got on her about her shenanigans, and scolded her frequently, but there was no denying that she was his best friend as well.

Raidon didn't cheer loudly like Gin did, but he watched the match carefully. Kara definitely had the physical advantage. She was both faster and stronger than Chiharu. But it seemed that the Hidden Moon Kunoichi had some tricks up her sleeve. When she set off the first explosion, Kara managed to avoid it. Raidon nodded his head in silent acknowledgement. Kara then attempted to fire the powdered substance back toward her enemy, which seemed to have little effect. Then she blew it up and out of the arena. This was her chance to strike!

But she hesitated, and Chiharu took advantage of it, summoning three owls. Raidon respected people who had contracts with summon animals. It wasn't easy to gain the respect of beings that by nature were far superior to humans. The owls dropped tags, which Raidon's Sharingan identified to have the same marks as the one on the subsitution jutsu. This was bad. If Chiharu filled the entire arena with that powder, Kara would have nowhere to run. And she couldn't use wind to blow that much away without putting the entire crowd in danger. Chiharu may not have been especially strong, but she had the tactical reasoning of a powerful shinobi...  Raidon watched carefully to see how his teammate would fare...

"So she avoided my attack and is trying to send it back at me? I can use this." Chiharu thought to her self and took a breath. The powder blown right at her but she stood in it, not moving. "This powder is hard to use therefore users tend to build up a tolerance for its effects. I can't express to you how many times I breathed it in and became stuck for hours on end." Chiharu smiled at Kara. "Now you created a barrior for yourself. You can't run directly into the area since one small breath will cause a loss of body movement." Of course although it wasn't good to breath in the powder for too long. So Chiharu had to keep the match going. Chiharu pulled a kunai from her leg pouch and used it to draw her own blood, after applying the proper hand signs she placed her hand to the wall.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A puff of smoke came from the wall and three owls appeared. Quickly they scattered around the room dropping more exsplovie tags full of powder! Chiharu held her breath and pressed herself to the wall so the explosions wouldn't send her soring back into the wall...again. Chiharu was curious to see what Kara would do to handle this.

Wind would just scatter the powder into bigger clouds, which could end up effecting the bystanders in the room. But her sage mode, the energy she possessed could mean trouble; mainly since it was Chiharu's first encounter with such a thing.

Even if she were to lose it was a great learning experience.

The first match was very interesting . I learn ore then i would have expected . This made me want to stay up and actually see all the matches through . Im not saying that they would be boring in the first place but the more i stayed up the less sleep i would get . The next match Kara was up .

"Go Kara Whooooooooeee!"

A little team support never hurt no body. Plus knowing Kara, she would either win the match or push her opponent to the point that she woulnt be able to fight in her second match .With my sharingan still active i could see the genin justsu coming but could Kara ?"Mhmmmm sage mode off the back " Now i was curious to see what was Kara's game plan . Like me she never use sage mode unless in dyer need .  With her sage mode she could sense things even i couldn't predict .

"Nice counter '

Her opponent wasnt no push over either , she had similar traits to the sharingan but it wasnt the same . Kara and Raidon train a lot together while i was hiding from sensai . Hopefully Kara could counter her opponent and make it to the second round .

If she makes it and Raidon makes it i dont have to pushh no further and just give up the match . If i advance anymore they might actually promote me to chuunin and that would mean more work !!!

"Nooooooo"

Just that thought alone was terrifying alone . I've seen what the chuunins and jounin had to do and im not about to sacrifice the little sleep i already get .

Chiharu managed to avoid Kara's kick using... The replacement jutsu!? That was about as elementary as it gets! But wait! At the last second, Kara saw it! An explosive tag! As the tag went off, Kara was preparing to defense against the explosion, but instead of the tag combusting, it released a cloud of smoke! Poison?

Kara immediately began holding her breath. The force of the explosion blowing Kara and Chi in opposite directions. Gathering chakra at the bottom of her feet, she landed on the outside wall of the arena, checking her skin and clothes for any sign of deterioration. It seemed the powder wasn't acidic, so she must have been correct in assuming it was some sort of inhalant.  The blast had knocked her out of the range of the cloud of powder, but it was still dangerous letting it remain on the field. Kara began weaving hand signs, and then waved her arms toward the cloud.

Wind Release: Driving Gust

This technique released a massive wind from Kara's body, in the direction that she chose. Normally it had the strength of your average storm winds, but while in Sage mode, it's strength increased almost to that of a low level hurricane! The Winds drove toward the cloud of powder, and pushed it toward Chiharu. There was a possibility that she could be effected by it, so why not give it a shot? Whether it succeeded or not, Kara would then drive the powder upward, and out of the arena. Her eyes settled on her opponent. She was a tricky one. Kara couldnt' afford to attack recklessly...
